The Property Data Platform team is responsible for ensuring our most critical data is available around the clock. This includes all listings of whats on the market, all public records information, personalization data, and market derivatives data (such as regional housing statistics and Zestimate).

The "Rosie" team is building a framework to consolidate data from multiple sources and deliver a single unified document to applications throughout the Zillow Group enterprise. Our platform is built on top of open source data streaming software such as Flink and Kafka. Given our critical role in the end-user experience, we care deeply about the performance, resiliency, scalability, and adaptability of our services.

About the role

In this role, you will lead a small team of highly skilled engineers supporting, and primarily focused on, key pieces of our internal Data Platform. You'll be collaborating with your peers across Zillow's Property Data Platform, as well as other engineering teams from various organizations within ZG, who are looking to make their data widely available and easily accessible around the company. We're looking for a strong technical leader who values mentoring their team and is eager to solve large scale data challenges.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. Remote employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

In Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City the standard base pay range for this role is $157,900.00 - $252,200.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field

At least 5 years of Full time experience and high proficiency software development in Java, python or similar programming languages.

At least 1+ years of experience in a people management or similar technical leadership role.

Experience with AWS and GraphQL is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Apache Flink

Experience with Kafka
