Senior Virtualization Engineer

1901 Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Senior Virtualization Engineer to support our Government Accountability Office (GAO) Operations and Maintenance contract.  This is a great opportunity to work with an elite team of virtualizationprofessionals to maintain a secure environment for critical systems.  Bring your own experience and work with our team to teach and learn while building, maintaining, and supporting our customer environments. 

Primary Responsibilities 

• Demonstrate excellent networking and technical skills, proficiency with the design, implementation and support of Microsoft solutions, integration of enterprise server, storage, network, and virtualization components, and exhibit strong project management and communication.    

• Implement, install, and recommend technologies including database, systems management, server virtualization, network storage and security. 

• Implement, monitor, and sustain multiple versions of Citrix infrastructures in multiple customer environments. 

• Implement, monitor, and sustain multiple version of NetScaler appliances. 

• Provide recommendations and implementation for a multi-site ADC GSLB configuration. 

• Troubleshoot all escalated Citrix issues ranging from hardware to operating systems/applications/permissions/user profile related issues. 

• Analysis of Citrix/Windows Patch requirements and remediate accordingly. 

• Perform troubleshooting and management of Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, ICA and File/Print services. 

• Provide technical guidance and support for existing Cloud Platform in AWS and Azure.  

• Technical writing for both system integration and transition to operations teams. 

• Work in hybrid multi-location operations team administering existing production network. 

• Follow, maintain, and produce in-house documentation for repeatable processes, including database feature installation, disaster recovery, and common problem resolution. 

• Assist in creating automation and process improvements toward greater efficiency, reduced incidents, and proactive systems management. 

• Support tickets and manage incidents, service requests, and problems through their full life-cycle. 

• Provide health and performance reporting and take appropriate actions based on trends in data. 

• Document status updates and communicate to necessary parties. 

• Document troubleshooting steps and knowledge articles for Shared Desk and Help Desk teams. 

Basic Qualifications 

• Bachelor'sdegree and 8years' experienceor an Associate’s degree and 10years experience. 

• Experienced with Citrix versions 5.x thru 1912 LTSR 

• Experienced with physical NetScaler and virtual NetScaler appliances 

• Experienced with cloud technologies, specifically AWS and Azure 

• Experienced with PowerShell or other scripting tools 

• Familiar with ticketing systems and the value of good documentation 

• A US Citizen who can obtain a public trust clearance 

Preferred Qualifications  

• Bachelor of Science in IT Related Field and 8+ years of experience 

• Experience with Citrix XenServer 

• Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization (CCP-V) 

• Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop Service on Citrix Cloud Certified (CC-VAD-CC)
