Director of Operations

Summary of Position

The Director of Operations will oversee the organization’s overall day-to-day operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. This individual will work closely with department heads and upper management personnel to identify ways to increase sales, maintain efficiencies throughout all departments, and create department goals/objectives that mirror the overall business goals/objectives.

Duties Include

  • Independently implement, administer, and evaluate day-to-day activities of the various departments by identifying and executing tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve the goals of the department.
  • Analyze departments and process needs, make recommendations to senior team for changes in staffing, facilities, health and safety compliance, finance, technology and/or administrative functions.
  • Oversee monitoring and evaluation of all department’s collaboration with CEO.
  • Contribute to and inform on strategic program/process planning and related funding and financial sustainability.
  • Evaluate business processes and operational and/or financial effectiveness.
  • Defining, implementing, and revising operational policies and guidelines for the organization.
  • Liaising with departmental heads to develop financial plans and ensure company-wide operational compliance.
  • Participate in the company's action plan for profitable growth by providing strong management and effective leadership, and by implementing changes that contribute to client satisfaction and operational compliance, effectiveness, and efficiencies. Develop and execute new growth directives.
  • Conducts internal and external research to determine best practices and remain current on industry trends and changes to help all departments improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Acts as an agent of change in the organization to promote the need for continued process and technology improvements, updates, and adoptions. Encourages the quick adaptation to change by promoting the positive nature of attaining steps towards overall company strategic goals.
  • Keep track of the company’s revenue margins and conduct budget reviews to maximize profits.
  • Manage procurement and resource allocation.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects that progress concurrently
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, collaborate, motivate and inspire change
  • Must be able to conceptualize and have the ability to comprehend all department objectives

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in business preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in business required.
  • 8+ years in operations management.
  • 6+ years in a management role.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Superior knowledge of industry regulations and operational guidelines.
  • In-depth knowledge of data analysis software packages.
  • Ability to energize and inspire others.
  • Deal with situations and issues proactively and persistently.
  • Strives to meet and exceed Mainspring's service standards and department goals consistently.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge/expertise with PC hardware and software (Word, Excel, Gsuites, Outlook, five9, Quickbase preferred).
