Enterprise Connectivity (EC) Business Operations team is a fast-paced team that translates those strategic choices into tangible business propositions. We represent the voice of the customer as we build distinctive, always-on connected vehicle technologies and services that transform the ownership experience



This request is to fill a Software Engineer position on the Ford Commercial Solutions (FCS) team. The Software Engineer role will work on a balanced team and collaborate with a Product Owner, Product Manager, and Product Designer to deliver products to support the FCS program. The team will deliver a portfolio of products involving telematics tools and additional fleet management services. The FCS product suite provides a customer facing user experience through UI and API offerings that integrate with existing systems to communicate back and forth with the Ford vehicles. The Software Engineer will deliver value through Agile software development practices in a fast-paced environment.


What you'll be able to do
:

  • Software developer with responsibilities to define, design, develop, and deploy services and applications in a micro service / cloud-based architecture.

  • Ensure functional and non-functional quality and timely delivery using agile principles.

  • Embrace extreme programming practices including paired development, test driven development, and continuous delivery to release early and often.

  • Collaborate and work closely together with a balanced team of developers.




The minimum requirements we seek
:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience.

  • 1 + years of Java development experience building micro service and cloud-based solutions using Spring Platform (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud)

  • 1 + years of JavaScript experience for front end user experience or similar (Vue.js, React, or Angular)

  • 1+ years of web service delivery experience (using REST) for backend services

  • 1+ years of experience with cloud environments (Google Cloud, Azure, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS or similar)


Our preferred qualifications
:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • Experience with Test-Driven Development and Agile Methodologies.

  • Experience with software development tools (backlog management, source code management, automated and unit test management, CI/CD, etc)

  • Pair and/or Mob programming

  • Proven ability to work both individually and collaboratively

  • Strong communication skills and ability to think above and beyond baseline requirements.
