The Director of Finance is responsible for hands-on development and implementation of Finance, Accounting & Compliance strategy across the organization. In this hands-on role, you'll own the following principle responsibilities:

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Own General Ledger and month/quarter/year-end close process
  • Oversee the cash flow preparation and planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
  • On a day-to-day basis oversee the banking relationships.
  • Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial planning
  • Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets.
  • Develop financial business plans and forecasts
  • Remain up to date on nonprofit audit best practices and state and federal law regarding nonprofit operations. analyses to provide insight into the organization's operations and business plans.
  • Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function.
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for federal and state funders, foundations, and board of directors.
  • Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
  • Perform other related duties that may be assigned

Special qualifications:

  • Non profit accounting experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Ability to meet all deadlines and ensure direct reports meet all deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound judgments and decisions
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Solid business acumen.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
