The Director of Finance is responsible for hands-on development and implementation of Finance, Accounting & Compliance strategy across the organization. In this hands-on role, you'll own the following principle responsibilities:
Principle Responsibilities:
- Own General Ledger and month/quarter/year-end close process
- Oversee the cash flow preparation and planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
- On a day-to-day basis oversee the banking relationships.
- Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial planning
- Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets.
- Develop financial business plans and forecasts
- Remain up to date on nonprofit audit best practices and state and federal law regarding nonprofit operations. analyses to provide insight into the organization's operations and business plans.
- Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function.
- Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
- Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for federal and state funders, foundations, and board of directors.
- Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned
Special qualifications:
- Non profit accounting experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Ability to meet all deadlines and ensure direct reports meet all deadlines
- Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
- Excellent organization and project management skills
- Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound judgments and decisions
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Solid business acumen.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
