Lead Supplier Development organization for Power & Controls Supply Chain. The role has responsibility for driving a cohesive Collins-wide supplier development strategy that serves reactively to support the tactical needs of the individual stakeholders across the Power & Controls SBU (Supplier Operations Support) concurrent to proactive efforts to drive sustainable performance recovery for Power & Controls SBU suppliers. The role requires major cross functional alignment across SBU and enterprise supply chain functions to ensure timely execution and success in support of SBU operational success.


As this role is newly developed within Power & Controls Supply Chain, the leader of this organization will be responsible to develop the structure, hire the team (headcount already approved), establish the roles and responsibilities, and leverage the correct communications and tools to set up an ecosystem that facilitates and brings to life the landed state described above and delivers results within this first year of existence.


This role can be an onsite or hybrid work arrangement from any of our sites (e.g., Rockford, IL, Cedar Rapids, IA, Charlotte, NC, Windsor Locks, CT, San Diego/Chula Vista, CA) or entirely remote.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Leads the Supplier Operations Support (SOS) organization. Manages global supplier development transformation for systemically poor performing suppliers.

  • Works with Value Streams and Supply Chain to identify who falls in the SOS category and to develop off-board criteria.

  • Partners with Global Supplier Development and Supplier Quality to ensure appropriate inputs to Supplier Development Prioritization Matrix (SDPM) and aligned execution thereafter.

  • For shared/common suppliers across Collins, coordinates and supports supplier development activities with Global Supplier Development team

  • Leads SOS team, predominantly in North America. Focuses on team/talent development and succession planning. Partners and leverages talent from the Global Supplier Development organization if/as necessary to meet the needs of the business.

  • Develops and executes strategy on team deployment at SOS suppliers.

  • Regularly interfaces with the executive leadership at SOS suppliers

  • Regularly presents progress on the off-board plan to executive leadership

  • Leads the proactively focused portion of the team dedicated to Supplier Readiness Assessment (SRA) audits with all suppliers. Develops gap closure action plans to ensure rate readiness. Adjusts SRA process accordingly to incorporate new learnings and partners with Global Supplier Development to continue to stay aligned across the Collins portfolio.

  • Serves as SCM focal for all performance/rate readiness reviews with the end customers (Boeing, Airbus, etc)


Qualifications:



Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree and 14 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 12 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience is required

  • US Citizen is required


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated capability leading teams, particularly across multiple regions and countries

  • Demonstrated experience in Supplier Development roles and developing an SBU specific Supplier Development organization

  • Demonstrated indirect leadership and management through influence
