Position Overview:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy to facilitate organizational success related to clinical strategic goals and objectives in accordance with sound management principles, regulatory and accreditation standards, and the hospital's mission, vision, and values.
Develops and establishes the direction of policies and procedures and sets a structure for providing a safe and productive work environment.
Establishes overall operating and capital budget with input from management team, ensuring financial targets are achieved and variances are addressed timely.

EDUCATION
Graduation from accredited School of Pharmacy
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
PHARMD-Licensed Pharmacist - California
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:12 years experience in hospital management.
12 years experience in pyxis or computerized pharmacy program.
12 years experience of budgeting and fiscal management.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of State, Federal and accrediting body regulations and standards, performs in accordance with them.
Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
Demonstrates credible leadership presence, with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority; and the ability to motivate and engage others.
Interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences.Understanding of the budgetary process and familiarity with the healthcare financial environment.
Demonstrates effectiveness in achieving goals through individuals without having direct control of those resources.
Ability to build and establish effective working partnership with employees, peers and leaders to achieve business objectives.
Requires a basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), The Joint Commission (TJC), Title XXII, United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).
