Director, Utility Partnerships And Regulatory Affairs



Position Summary



The Regulatory Affairs Manager is responsible for tracking, shaping, and reviewing regulations relating to EV charging infrastructure, building codes, and implementation of international standards, to enable ChargePoint's network and products across North America and in new markets. Must be goal-motivated, adaptable in a start-up/early stage environment, a strategic thinker, and detail-oriented. Successful candidates will have experience engaging with regulatory bodies, analyzing regulations, and working cross functionally with engineering and public policy professionals.



Duties and Responsibilities



  • Track, monitor, and analyze laws and regulations that impact the ability for ChargePoint to operate in existing and new markets, including but not limited to interoperability measures, metrology, building and installation codes, reliability, and accessibility mandates.

  • Master a detailed technical understanding of ChargePoint's product portfolio in order to advise the business on compliance with regulatory and legal obligations;

  • Develop written and oral regulatory comments and testimony for a range of internal audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.

  • Develop detailed summaries and presentations for internal teams.

  • Work closely with internal engineering and product teams to identify priorities, and coordinate on messaging, position development, strategy, and ultimate implementation.

  • Support ChargePoint's participation in regulatory forums, including government hearings and stakeholder meetings.


Qualifications



  • Experience in regulatory processes and energy policy. This includes demonstrated knowledge of electric vehicle charging and/or codes and standards regulatory forums ).

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in regulatory affairs.

  • Track record of successfully navigating regulatory proceedings and tracking corporate compliance with regulatory mandates.

  • Ability to speak and write clearly, accurately and persuasively.

  • Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently.

  • Resourcefulness in solving problems with limited resources.

  • Excellent people skills and an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude.

  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

  • Strong computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to travel frequently as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree required. Demonstrated technical experience or technical degree preferred but not required.
