Position Overview


This individual, based on-site at General Mills World Headquarters (WHQ), leads the strategy and day-to-day management of Global Security s Security Operations Center (SOC) which is staffed by security contractors with primary responsibility for managing 24/7 security operations at WHQ (MGO/JFB). In addition, this role oversees remote monitoring, response, and security support for a growing number of properties as cost efficiencies and technical opportunities are identified. In collaboration with Global Security leadership, as well as site security staff, this role will help to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.


Key Accountabilities


  • Physical Security Operations for North America
  • Provide operational direction and leadership for Global Security s SOC operations
  • Measure program effectiveness by developing key performance indicators
  • Identify and collect appropriate metrics and data to identify trends and inform decisions
  • Create agile, scalable processes for incident recognition, management, and recovery
  • Develop and manage procedures to support security monitoring initiatives
  • Monitor properties for threats and disruptions to business operations
  • Collaborate internally and externally to resolve security challenges and propose solutions
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices related to the management of security operations centers, corporate command centers, fusion centers, or similar operations
  • Security Guard Leadership and Administration
  • Lead a team of contract security guards responsible for monitoring WHQ and other properties
  • Develop and execute training initiatives to maintain security guard expertise and ensure readiness
  • Partner with security guard account managers to review performance and contractual expectations
  • Oversee the WHQ security guard budget and monitor invoices for accuracy
  • Provide guidance to on-site staff at non-WHQ locations managing guards
  • Technology Implementation and Management
  • Centrally manage and support physical security access control, video management, and visitor management systems
  • Enhance security technology capabilities and align with industry best practices for security monitoring, incident management/reporting, and associated security documentation techniques
  • Continuously and proactively identify, assess, and report security issues using relevant technology
  • Focus on data-driven process improvement through analysis of metrics and historic trends
  • Collaborate with third-party security partners to resolve unique, complex technology challenges
  • Drive physical security optimization and automation initiatives to elevate security infrastructure
  • Support physical identity access control processes and procedures
  • Security Response
  • Respond to incidents 24/7 by assessing, triaging, and escalating to appropriate stakeholders
  • Support regional security teams as they manage incidents and potential crisis events
  • Leverage effective and compassionate responses when dealing with persons in crisis


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor s degree
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant security management experience in a corporate setting
  • Demonstrated ability in management of enterprise security systems and technologies
  • Project management experience and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to set direction and effectively influence others
  • Thrives in ambiguity and embraces opportunities during times of significant change
  • Proven record of strong collaboration skills across distance and difference
  • Able to work effectively with all levels of management, external constituents, and peers
  • Strong security and risk management mindset
  • A desire for continuous learning


Preferred Qualifications


  • Success managing a security operations center or similar operation
  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholders with various priorities
  • Ability to respond to strategic direction, recognize intent, and re-prioritize workload accordingly
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex improvement projects
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to a variety of audiences
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience developing and governing process for technology and data-driven security environment
  • Ability to translate business needs into appropriate preparedness planning
  • Strong skills in analysis and creative problem solving
  • Security guard contract management
