PSI seeks a Head, Philanthropic Partnerships, to serve as a senior member of the Global Fundraising and Communications Team, reporting to the Director of Individual Philanthropy and playing an essential role in supporting PSI s vision to reimagine philanthropy. As a seasoned fundraiser and strategic thinker, the Head will contribute to the development of a bold, effective, and integrated strategy for individual donors to PSI and lead the team responsible for implementation of the strategy s fundraising plan. The Head will work closely with the Director and Senior Managers to align fundraising goals and activities across all individual philanthropy initiatives, including digital, planned, annual, board, major and high value giving inclusive of Maverick Collective by PSI. We seek someone with strong communication skills and a compassionate leadership style, with the credibility, gravitas and authenticity needed to nurture internal and external relationships at the highest levels. We seek someone with creativity, agility, and optimism for pushing boundaries and further aligning the organization s philanthropy strategy around our values of bold giving, experiential learning, and shifting power.

Your contributions
  • Oversee all Individual Philanthropy fundraising activities and the full Individual Philanthropy donor file including digital, planned, annual, board, major and high value giving inclusive of Maverick Collective by PSI.
Collaborate closely with the Director to set and adjust a bold fundraising plan and ensure all workplan activities are aligned. Work closely with Senior Managers to set objectives and workplans and advise Senior Managers as needed. Monitor progress against the plan and analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and inform decision-making. 35% of Time
  • Cultivate relationships and directly solicit gifts from high-value donors. Collaborate closely with the Director and Senior Managers on stewardship of major donors, including Maverick Collective donors. 35% of Time
  • Develop, manage, and inspire a dynamic and high-performing team of fundraisers responsible for implementing the Individual Philanthropy fundraising plan. Set team and individual goals. Prioritize, organize, delegate, and coordinate the flow of work. Enhance individual employee performance through frequent and timely communication and support. Make recommendations concerning employment, termination, performance evaluations, salary actions, and other personnel actions. 20% of Time
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for individual philanthropy. Deliver internal presentations to a wide range of audiences. Participate in external communities of practice and keep abreast of important developments and trends to ensure PSI remains at the forefront of philanthropy. 10% of Time

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's Degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field. Master s Degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field preferred.
  • At least 10 years of related experience. Equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Seasoned fundraiser, go-getter, and strategic thinker with deep experience in reaching bold revenue goals and stewarding donors with professionalism and poise.
  • Subject matter expert in prospect cultivation and stewardship for both low level and high level giving. In-depth knowledge of individual giving best practice and trends.
  • Sophisticated and savvy relationship-builder with a track-record of successful collaboration, consensus-building, and negotiation with colleagues across levels of seniority. Able to develop effective partnerships with internal senior management, external donors, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Creative thinker, problem-solver, and optimist. Able to proactively identify opportunities, diagnose and troubleshoot problems, and revise and improve processes to improve efficiency.
  • Unafraid to test new ways of working, disrupt the status quo, and tell the story of how we are doing so.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator, with high emotional intelligence.
  • Possesses strong external networks and established relationships with potential donors and donor forums.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and under pressure. Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty, and leading others through change.
  • Possesses an inspirational and motivational leadership style that fosters teamwork and lifts others up, while maintaining rigor and making hard decisions to drive results. Demonstrated ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams, knowing when to coach, when to advise, and when to provide specific direction.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with an emphasis on the ability to operationalize strategic plans.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail and timeliness. Able to balance multiple projects, wear multiple hats, and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced and at times ambiguous environment.
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Zoom, MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Office 365.
