As the Proposal Development Manager (PDM), you will manage and compose responses for assigned proposals to contribute to the goal of increasing profitable revenue growth. You will utilize persuasive writing skills to promote value propositions and operational knowledge to collaborate with subject matter experts to create an appropriate Scope of Work/Proposal. You will also ensure final product exceeds customer expectations and is submitted within company guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as project Manager and central point of contact for assigned proposal opportunities.
- Works with sales and operations to drive coordination, preparation, and submission of proposals/Scopes of Work.
- Works with internal subject matter experts to develop and convey project assumptions, and overall proposal offering.
- Establishes priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval.
- Facilitates cross-functional kick-off, status update, and approval conference calls.
- Identifies response requirements, delegates to subject matter experts, and gathers relevant information for proposal responses.
- Monitors status with contributors and provides proposal status information to review meetings.
- Contributes to and implements ideas for improving departmental efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required.
- A self-starting, positive, and driven attitude.
- 1 year or more Project management and collaboration skills in a high volume or fast paced environment.
- 3 to 6 years proposal/sales writing, or distributor sales and marketing experience.
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in a business to business setting in a sales/operations support role.
- Excellent oral communication skills accompanied by strong written communication skills, including original composition proofreading, and editing
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented with diligent follow through.
- Ability to network and research internally to find subject matter experts and solutions.
- The ability to lead without having direct authority.
- Proficient in Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
