Position Summary:
- Carrier s Fire, Security, and Sensors Technology team, a part of Carrier s WHQ Engineering Innovation & Technology organization, is seeking a technical lead in the area of hardware and software development for emerging security technology solutions. The Fire and Security Advanced Solutions team is an early-stage technology group that delivers vetted technology options suited for product development to Carrier s Fire & Security businesses.
- Research and pre-development of key IoT devices and controllers for Fire and Security applications
- Planning, developing, and implementing proof of concepts as part of a Technology Readiness Level development path
- Gathering and analyzing requirements and working closely with Carrier businesses
- Develop test plans, conduct design reviews
- Writing and maintaining project documentation
- Test and debug hardware and software, program devices, and related development tasks.
- Providing technical support and training to the product development team
- Actively engage in cross-functional activities as a part of product development
- Working independently as well as collaboratively with multidiscipline and multisite development teams
- Manage technology project timelines and conduct technology reviews as required
- Mentor other engineers
- Experience with Low Power Electronics & Wired\Wireless design (RS485, BLE, WiFi, LoRaWan, 5G, NB-IoT)
- Experience with Firmware, Software, and operating systems (C programming, C++, Python, FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux)
- Experience with Innovation in IoT, building prototypes, working with emerging vendors in communications, and sensing technology
- Experience with relevant standards FCC, UL, CSA, and IEC for electronic device qualification
- Professional experience in Security devices, Access Management, and Locks is a plus
- BS in, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of experience developing IoT Solutions
