SUMMARY


The Immigration Program Manager is responsible for ensuring current and future global immigration compliance for Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH). This individual must ensure that there is no disruption or risk to acquisition/renewal of work authorization and permanent residency. The individual who assumes this role will serve as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders and be pivotal in navigating a changing immigration landscape. Delivering a premium people experience is also imperative.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Assess external/legislative changes in the US and global immigration landscape and analyze impact on immigration processes. Identify process and policy gaps, drafting policy and process revisions, and assisting immigration team leaders with the implementation of new or revised programs is also necessary. Liaise with internal policy teams and external Government Affairs council to keep abreast of all current and proposed legislative changes.

  • Ensure leadership has full visibility of how compliance changes will impact the immigration program.

  • Responsible for partnering with vendors and internal cross-functional teams to ensure applications and renewals are submitted accurately and that compliance requirements are satisfied and scalable.

  • Lead and/or coordinate all activities related to special audits, annual audits, and other ad hoc requests.

  • Ensure immigration renewals/extensions requirements are processed in a timely fashion and do not create work authorization gaps.

  • Facilitate training for mobility team members, recruiting team members, and other key cross-functional teams that play a part in ensuring immigration compliance requirements are met.

  • Collaborate, at all levels, with internal stakeholders to execute on dependencies related to Immigration (e.g. Payroll, Employment Law, I-9/People Compliance, People Operations).

  • Ensure compliance needs are included in mobility program decisions - e.g. technology, tools, vendors and policies.



QUALIFICATIONS


Required Minimum Education:



  • 4 year/ Bachelors Degree

  • Specialty/Major: Immigration, Human Resources or directly related field.



Preferred Education:



  • Graduate Degree (Masters)

  • Specialty/Major: Law, Business Administration, Human Resources, etc.



Minimum Years and Type of Experience:



  • 5 years’ experience working in an in-house or law firm immigration compliance role. Some healthcare experience preferred.



Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:



  • Knowledge of US immigration filings, government affairs, legal landscape, and policy-making principles.



Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:



  • Experience with large scale audits, government reviews, and regular programmatic reviews to ensure compliance with various legal and policy principles.
