Overview:
Northrop Grumman, Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Process Engineer to support our Airborne Multifunction Sensors (AMC) business unit's E-2D & Triton Programs out of Bethpage NY. The primary objective will be support production tasks as it relates to being the interface between NGAS engineering, Standards and Components organization and suppliers to manage RCI/RFA activities, as well as the dissemination of engineering changes to suppliers or NGMS manufacturing floor.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Act in a Liaison Engineering capacity for Program RCI's, RFA's, generation of New Drawings (ND), Direct Drawing Changes (DDC) Engineering Orders (EO), and resolution of required changes. This position will work with RMS and suppliers on processing/interpretation of E-2/Triton Vehicle Engineering documentation and related issues required to sustain the build process of product deliverables.
  • Support proposal estimating and procurement Independent Cost Estimate (ICE) activity
  • Develop and maintain top level manufacturing project plans/schedules
  • Identification and resolution of engineering, scheduling, and quality issues
  • Act as primary technical interface with PMO/Contracts and the E-2/Triton Vehicle Engineering Organization to convey status and resolve issues
  • Preparation of manufacturing related presentation packages for Operations Management, PMO, Subcontractor reviews and the time spent traveling to and attending the reviews
  • Takes released engineering documents and incorporates into manufacturing by creating product structure in SAP and then transmitting that requirement to our suppliers.
  • Create a CMR (component material request) for each part number. this loads SAP Material Master.
  • Transition new products from design to production and sustain products already in production.
  • Apply continuous improvement techniques to drive down costs and improve production efficiency.
Basic Qualifications for Process Engineer:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline, or commensurate technical degree, with 9 or more years related work experience; or - Masters degree and 5+ years of experience.
  • Ability to understand design documentation (e.g., technical specifications, part and assembly drawings, etc.) and to assess producibility.
  • Experience in manufacturing process development or related product design experience, fixture design, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, organization skills, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance and US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Currently possess a security clearance
Salary Range: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
