This position reports to the Service Desk Manager and is responsible for the installation and maintenance of personal computers, operating systems, peripherals, smart devices, and various software packages. Additionally, the individual will provide technical assistance and training to Bryant computer end users. The incumbent may participate in basic network and/or select application package problem research and resolution.

Principal Accountabilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work as part of the helpdesk team to deliver superior IT technical support to the University’s staff and faculty users.

  • Provide support for computers, printers, peripherals, smart devices, and software on Windows and Macintosh desktop and laptops while effectively communicating issues and updates to Service Desk Manager.

  • Regularly monitor and manage ticket queue, update, and patch systems with security updates, and perform computer imaging and rollouts.

  • Participate in team meetings to discuss new technologies, case studies, roadblocks, and outstanding service delivery.

  • Work with and support cloud technologies: Microsoft Azure/Active Directory, Intune, Office 365, Google, and more.

  • Assist with moves, adds, changes (MACs) of the University’s Voice Over IP (VOIP) phone system along with assisting with voicemail system, telephones, and faxing software.

  • On an ongoing basis, manage small projects (as needed), deliver, and remove computer equipment, assign, update, and report on client tasks/tickets and effectively communicate technical issues and project execution with Service Desk Manager.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
This position is best filled by an individual with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Requires an understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols and procedures, all relevant Windows workstation operating systems, and Windows Office products, prior service in a customer facing technical support role and proven ability to effectively interact with end-users in identifying and resolving technical issues in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and technology with exceptional end-user support and the ability to multi-task across clients and technologies, while maintaining an appropriate level of professionalism and composure. Must be able to provide proactive and resourceful resolution to issues and have the unique ability to work with both business and technical-minded employees to plan and execute against project timelines and deliverables. IT Security experience a plus. Certain requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
