Essential Duties:


  • Develop and establish working relationships with existing customers and new telecom customers for future work opportunities.
  • Drive a strong working relationship with each customer’s decision makers to maximize new opportunities and revenue. Collaborate with all appropriate SSS management team members with a focus on new and existing business opportunities.
  • Manage the profit & loss, job cost, cash flow, and deliverables to meet or exceed client/customer expectations and company budget requirements.
  • Travel with overnight stays to SSS active job sites or client/customer locations as required to develop understanding of the customer’s needs, office team members support, and logistics of the locations to successfully support the project requirements.
  • Coordination and scheduling of field activities for project managers and market staff along with sub-contractor selection and evaluation.
  • Management of Project Managers supervising SSS internal crews completing projects.
  • Ensure profitability of the projects that the manager is responsible for via working with the client and the crews.
  • Provide guidance, and final approval for new job cost estimates as required for upcoming projects.
  • Development, and management of training internal and subcontract crews and advancing their knowledge in the field to further create efficiencies and their technical abilities while fostering a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Manage project close out procedures, internal & external, with field crews, project management, and administrative staff.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control team to drive process and procedures for field crews leaving the respective sites. Including but not limited to climbing the structures visited, inspection of all groundwork, etc.
  • Communicate with Project Managers of the SSS field crews on existing projects, in order to maintain project status updates and continue to develop leadership and problem-solving skills within the field crews.
  • Communicate the SOW to the Project Manager and SSS Foreman to convey all customer and SSS requirements ensure that the project is completed in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Partner with Safety Department in having their team perform unannounced safety audits on all field crews, minimum of 4 audits per month.
  • Knowledge and continuing development of all SSS procedures and policies for bidding, tracking, invoicing, and follow-up on Timberline software tracking system.
  • Support Finance with monthly forecast and weekly tracking of revenue to meet the monthly committed forecast and pipeline requirements.
  • Manage facility expenses, assets, and overall facility decisions.
  • Lead weekly deployment/personnel conference call.
  • Project a professional image to the customer and SSS co-workers.
  • Provide communications with customers & SSS Project Manager via phone or email to assure complete knowledge and understanding of customers current and upcoming projects.
  • Continue to assist SSS with special projects as requested by management.
  • Develop and assess crew resources to support current and future projects.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Primary Focus: 


  • Oversees the activities of the Upper Midwest SSS location. Supervises administration and Field Service teams directly or indirectly
  • Establishes working relationships with new and existing customers to generate a steady flow of new project business and ensure success of existing projects
  • Manages the performance of Upper Midwest SSS region in accordance with all related client deliverables
  • Oversees Upper Midwest SSS locations’ overall profit and loss objectives and annual budget accountability
  • Manages project bids, active work, and closeout phases of construction
  • Coordinates and schedules the work of Project Managers, Construction Managers, Administration Support, and Field Crew personnel.
  • Responsible for ensuring all projects are completed to meet core principles
  • Regular and timely attendance is required

Physical Requirements:


  • Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow with constantly changing priorities
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require substantial use of fingers, hands, wrists, and arms, such as sitting, typing, picking, pinching, using office equipment and reaching
  • Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and handling of materials
  • Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual
  • Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
  • Perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection for errors
