Job Description
Project Overview
The Enterprise Data Governance Project aims to enable NYPA to manage its "Data-As-An-Asset and to build the foundation for an enterprise data analytics platform at NYPA. This program will focus on enabling data stewardship, improving the quality of our data assets, increasing data security and protection, simplifying data integration and establishing better audit trail on data usage at NYPA
This program will implement Data Governance & Data Integration tools and processes to provide data owners and data consumers the ability to provision and access high quality, well-governed data for their day-to-day operations. In addition, it will help establish a strong foundation upon which to build a world-class Data Analytics capability that turns data into business insights more efficiently and effectively.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
Data Governance
o Development of new Data Governance policies, procedures and frameworks
Data Tiering Policy
Enterprise Data Policy (Data roles, Data request)
o Integration of Data Governance into IT project governance
Ongoing review of DG artefacts for projects going through Stage Gates
o Development of Metadata usage for Data Governance
Data Tools
o Engineering and implementation of new NYPA Data Quality solution
Design and implementation of new NYPA Data Quality solution
Integration of NYPA Data Quality solution with key internal systems including Maximo, SAP, etc.
o Engineering and implementation of new Data Governance solution
Develop and implement new Data Governance workflows
Data Analytics
o Incorporate Data Governance into NYPA's Data Analytics Platform
o Development of Data Governance framework and implementation of Analytics Platform
Skills
Expertise in Data Governance processes & tools
Expertise in Data Quality - framework, assessment (including Data Quality Index scoring) and remediation process
Experience with Trillium Data Quality tool
Experience with Collibra Data Governance tool
Expertise in Data Governance Architecture - data models, database design/operations
Expertise in Data Security - sensitive data management, policies, processes
Expertise in both on-prem and cloud Data Governance processes & methodologies
Working knowledge of Data Integration tools and self service tools such as Talend or Informatica
Strong understanding of Data Governance for Data Analytics environments
Strong communication and influencing skills
Ability to work with Senior Leaders
Experience working on teams that work under Agile principles
Education & Certifications
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Management, or similar field of study. Graduate degree preferred.
15+ years of demonstrated leadership with data governance, data quality & data analytics
Industry accredited Data Management Certification
Agile scrum Certified
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday
For assignments based at White Plains Headquarters, the workday consist of 7.5-hour paid workday plus a required 0.5-hour unpaid lunch.
Paid for time worked only; there are no paid holidays, vacation or sick days.
Overtime is not permitted unless authorized in advanced.
