FOUNDATION DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Thaddeus Stevens Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. The Director is the key management position for the Foundation and works closely with the Board of Directors to plan, organize and manage the administration and fundraising for the Foundation to fulfill the organization’s mission. This position reports to the Executive Director of College Advancement for Thaddeus Stevens College and supervises administrative staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Resource Development:

· Coordinate and executes a comprehensive fundraising strategy in conjunction with the Executive Director of College Advancement, Thaddeus Stevens Foundation board and committees.

· Expand partnerships that will lead to sustainable, diversified funding streams and significant philanthropic investments in Thaddeus Stevens Foundation’s future

· Develop and implement strategies to meet the fundraising goals of the College and Foundation including, but not limited to, Annual Giving, scholarships, special campaigns, planned giving, and endowment growth

· Identify and cultivate potential benefactors from within industry, foundation, philanthropic and alumni communities with a focus on identifying opportunities for larger gifts and planned giving possibilities

· Develop and oversee special events for fundraising purposes as well as donor recognition

· Develop grant and funding proposals for restricted fund use aligned to strategic initiatives that support the mission and vision of the College

· Develop and execute standardized mechanisms for comprehensive donor acknowledgement including, but not limited to, verbal and written correspondence, engagement opportunities, impact statements, and investment performance reports

Organizational Leadership and Operations:

· Work with the Foundation Board to develop the organization’s annual and long-term plans through strategic planning initiatives that align to the goals and objectives of the Foundation

· Collaborate with board members, staff, Office of Advancement, and others to uphold a supportive culture that inspires active participation and clear, open communication

· Coordinate the distribution of funds for student scholarships, awards, grants and other means to advance the mission and quality of the College’s programs, facilities and services

· Develop planning documents including board reports, financial reports, and committee oversight

· Identify and support the development of policies and procedures related to Foundation governance

· Attend Board meetings and prepare reports as requested by the Executive Committee

· Oversee Foundation and associated staff & operations including House of Champ School Store

· Develop and oversee the Foundation’s annual budget

· Maintain current Foundation licenses and certifications

· Manage Foundation payroll operations

· Ensure compliance with financial audit requirements and Federal IRS guidelines

· Effectively use office and software systems to support development projects and program operations, including accounting program (Quickbooks), accounting firm, and fundraising database.

· Ensure employee and business practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements and Foundation policies

Database Management:

· Works with Office of Advancement Team to maintain and update donor database as well as to maintain accurate records of all fundraising activities.

· Train and supervise users of current CRM software, maintaining proper access permissions

· Develop comprehensive structure of new College/Office of Advancement database and managing data migration to that system

· Create and manage fund settings, reports and other system attributes

· Oversee posting of all donations, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree Required

· 5 years of professional fundraising experience preferred

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including grant writing and public speaking

· Proven abilities and experience in fiscal management, budget creation, and problem solving

· Ability to maximize fundraising CRM software for revenue growth

· Commitment to the mission of Thaddeus Stevens Foundation and knowledge of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology mission and vision
