Description The Senior Quality Engineer carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements. The Senior Quality Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Responsibilities The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer will develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. Senior Quality Assurance Engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions and reviewing system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.). The QA Engineer will be responsible for creating Azure Test Plans and performing JSON and backend code testing. The QA Engineer role plays an important part in the product development process and will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets needs, while being cost-effective. This individual will monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards. This individual will also help out with software development on the team when needed. Our Department of Defense contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position. Responsibilities Include: Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs Perform software development as needed in .NET Core technologies Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements Monitor debugging process results Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies Required Qualifications Our Department of Defense contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 5 or more years of technical experience Proven work experience in software development and willingness to perform development work as needed in .NET Core technologies Proven work experience in software quality assurance Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing Hands-on experience with automated testing tools Experience with Azure Test Plans, JSON and backend code test Experience with SQL and scripting Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process Ability to look at and execute code in C#, SQL, .NET Core, .NET Framework Additional Information To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense. Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters.
