Logistics Manager

Summary/Objective

Facilitate communication between departments while overseeing transportation, distribution, and storage of materials. Control flow of materials to ensure customers’ needs are met.

.• Coordinate with transportation partners to ensure timely movement of shipments

• Coordinate with customs brokerage on import and export shipments
• Negotiate transportation services and analyze financial impacts of current and proposed logistics changes
• Evaluate transportation expenses, verify alignment with quoted rates and budgets
• Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, and frequency
• Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements
• Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers
• Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports/exports, or customer issues
• Perform metrics reporting and data analysis tasks to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements
• Forecast requirements, prepares annual budgets, analyzes variances, and initiates corrective actions in order to meet financial objectives of logistics
• Maintain import container tracking within an ERP system
