Join our Lockheed Martin team as a Senior Electronics Power Engineer where you will be part of the Human Spaceflight Avionics, Power, and Software organization developing the premier human spaceflight electrical products to support a variety of crewed missions including the Orion Artemis missions, Lunar Mobile Vehicle (LMV), StarLab (Commercial Lunar Destinations), Human Lunar Landing System (HLS) as well as additional infrastructure and services to support a sustained human presence at the moon.

This will involve research, development, design, and test of electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks in a high reliability, safety critical human space flight environment.

This role will include the following responsibilities: Develop human space rated avionics and power designs for the vehicles that will return humankind to the Moon, and onward to Mars • Coordinate technical work products between the electrical power subsystem and other space craft systems including avionics, communications, and tracking, displays and controls, and guidance, navigation and control, thermal, environmental control and life-support, and propulsion groups.

• Derive requirements for power conversion systems for large power interface and transfer capability between internal and external spacecraft systems.

• Compose electrical designs from the block diagram through interface schematic levels.

• Develop and analyze electrical power converter concepts, designs, and specifications for power control and conversion components.

• Work with the harness/wiring team and avionics engineers to drive the system channelization.

• Model digital and analog circuits and support analysis of circuit board and system design.

• Analyze electrical circuit performance utilizing Zuken, SPICE and other electrical computer aided design tools.

• Oversee component (part, CCA, assembly) manufacture both internally at our state-of-the-art Electronics Manufacturing Facility (EMF) or at multiple world class avionics suppliers.

• Support electrical integration of power components into human space exploration vehicles at the subsystem and system levels.

• Provide as-needed electrical power engineering support to flight operations on future lunar missions.

10-20% travel is required for this position.

Position is contingent upon program award expected 4th Quarter 2022.

YOU WILL TYPICALLY HAVE: • 5 - 9 years of professional experience for this role.

• No security clearance is needed for this position but US Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

• Experience in designing electrical circuits and electronic assemblies for power products.

• Experience with performing electrical circuit simulations and modeling.

Desired Skills: • Prior experience with development and production of human spacecraft electronics for Orion or similar manned spaceflight program.

• Experience in design of radiation tolerant electronics products is a plus.

• Successfully transitioned at least one circuit card to layout.

• Familiarization with safety critical complex hardware design standards such as DO-254.

• Ability to diagnose and solve a variety of electrically related problems and document the testing processes and results in the appropriate problem reporting system.

• Excellent communication skills to interface with peers, supervisors, and on-site customer personnel.

• Experience with AutoCAD, Zuken, SPICE and other electrical computer aided design tool.

• Prior experience in power quality requirements and testing • Experience with test and troubleshooting of electrical systems with focus on power systems from mW to multiple kW range • Preparation for and participation in major program design reviews (Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Manufacturing Design Review, Test Readiness Review).

• Electronics worst case analysis (eWCA) experience.

• Supplier oversight of electrical components/assemblies.

Pay Rate: In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $83,800 - $139,600 .

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
