Data engineers implement methods to improve data reliability and quality. They combine raw information from different sources to create consistent and machine-readable formats. They also develop and test architectures that enable data extraction and transformation for predictive or prescriptive modeling.
At ShiftNow Data engineer roles and responsibilities include:
- Analyzing transactional shift data and CRM data
- Building Extract Transform Load Pipelines to a Data Warehouse/Data Lake
- Developing and maintaining datasets in cloud analytical systems like BigQuery or Redshift
- Creating Key Performance Metrics and Dashboards using business intelligence tools.
- Building Machine Learning models to create predictive analytics

Requirements and skills
- Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
- Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Experience working with either BigQuery or Redshift and using Machine Learning tools to gather advanced data analytics and key performance metrics.
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Javascript and Python)
- Hands-on experience with SQL database design
- Great numerical and analytical skills
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field; a Master's is a plus
- Data engineering certification is a plus
