Job Description Our IT team operates as a business partner proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new organizational capabilities. The Product / Technical Analyst for Data Management Products will be part of the Scientific Data Consumption Product Line team. In this role, they will work with product teams, technical teams, SMEs and stakeholders to uncover, understand, and communicate user needs and assist in conducting product discovery activities for data products. In this role, they will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams helping to solve complex data problems. They will have to understand and translate business needs into data standards. They will have to develop and maintain conceptual, logical data models along with corresponding vocabularies and ontologies where needed. Success will be the acceptance and adoption of the data models and data governance practices by project teams in R&D IT. The Scientific Data Consumption Product Line (SDC) provides a combination of technology, infrastructure, software, and personnel to support large scale scientific data consumption and computing comprising of the Scientific Data Platform, Modeling and Machine Learning Platforms, High Performance Computing (HPC) workflows, and "experience" products such as visualization, modeling workbenches, and analytics development environments. As SDC is composed of multi-disciplinary and highly-integrated products and services, they will have opportunities to contribute to product technical discovery processes as well as help in defining the current and future product strategies. They will be exposed in technical environments such as cloud products and services, data products, enablement of data and machine learning pipelines, among others. We are seeking professionals with the following qualifications, skills and experience: Qualifications: ~~~. in scientific domain or computer sciences Minimum 2-5 years working with customers to define requirements, preferably in the sciences/pharmaceutical industry Skills: Experience with Data Governance processes and Data Governance tools. Experience with defining requirements for data governance and data ingestion projects. Experience working with creating ontologies and vocabularies Experience working with data ingestion, processing, curation, and product creation Experience with managing backlog, conducting agile ceremonies Experience with creating reports and dashboards for product leadership Experience in the use of JIRA and/or Kanban boards for maintaining and addressing product backlogs Experience in the use of collaborative documentation platforms such as Confluence Demonstrate analytical problem-solving skills Identify and define the business problems Excellent written and verbal communications skills Ability to translate business requirements to technical concepts that are needed for product development Effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders and users Facilitate workshops Prepare and deliver presentations and/or trainings Preferred: Pharmaceutical drug discovery and pre-clinical development experience Experience working in Agile software development Familiarity with working in a product model setup, with basic understanding of the product lifecycle. Familiarity with Cloud based software and terms Knowledge of the Product Life Cycle for software products Key Tasks Helps define and document governance rules, workflows and templates for ontologies and vocabularies. Conducts agile ceremonies for data governance and data onboarding teams Ensures product backlog is up to date and reflective of product group objectives Works with Product Owners and Technical Leads to prioritize stories for sprints Develops dashboards and reports to help product leadership with resourcing and prioritization strategies. Assist in developing project related ontologies and vocabularies Assist in defining standard patterns, templates and best practices Collaborate frequently with scientists, data scientists, data engineers, data curators and experts. Curate scientific data according to data standards defined. Gather and manage opportunity statements, use cases, insights, and requirements, from users, stakeholders, and engineers. May lead small sized projects with guidance.
