Maxar is looking to add an experienced Solutions Architect to establish our operating portfolio of capabilities.
You should be comfortable with the following statement: I can come up to speed quickly on existing software capabilities and business requirements, to define the software solutions needed to meet our customer s needs to gain access to imagery, to operationally scale (horizontally & vertically), and to continually enhance and grow capabilities within the ecosystem.

In the first year
Establish relationships with team members and external teams to understand key players and requirements for your service area.
Come up to speed on the department s capabilities, understand the technical architecture and direction of the department.
Work with team leadership to establish current direction and influence future direction based on your experience.
Integrate into the various Release Trains and establish a feedback/grooming cadence and measurement criteria for delivering successful capabilities.
Work with management to set your career path and goals within Maxar.
In the first two years
Provide technical leadership to the teams and department.
Develop proof-of-concepts for projects to validate proposed solutions.
Create a portfolio of capability solutions that meet customer needs and match technical team skills within the department.
Work with leaders to create and document the overall strategic technical vision for the department.
Within five years
Become a trusted leader within your chosen career path.
Influence the external direction of multiple teams or trains by prioritizing capability solutions.
Setup your career path for the next five years.
What will you be doing?
Hold regular solution review sessions with teams and trains in order to establish successful execution guidance for our capabilities and to collect constructive feedback.
Act as a conduit of information from the division and broader company to help the Release Trains understand direction.
Establish a system that will curate solutions for end-to-end customer facing problems; work with the teams to understand the execution of those solutions through our Release Trains.
Incorporate customer feedback into software products ensure the teams and trains have a deep understanding and empathy for our user s needs.
Provide leadership to the Release Trains in order to help define best practices and professional excellence.
We work in very Lean Agile environment; you will collaborate with our geographically dispersed teams primarily via Zoom, Slack, GitLab, and shared Jira spaces.

Minimum Requirements:
Must be U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance with a CI Polygraph.
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
8 years of experience in software development.
5+ years of experience with software systems in a high-volume internet-facing production system.
Understanding of Agile methodologies; specifically frequent, iterative releases that rely on customer feedback to refine features over time.
Created/Design microservice architectures.
Experience working with the following technologies or teams working with:
Linux operating systems.
Git for version control.
Back-end languages such as C/C++ or JVM based languages Java/Groovy.
Developing full stack software solutions at scale using build frameworks such as Maven, NPM, or cmake with enterprise collaboration CI/CD tools such as GitHub or GitLab.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills across a geographically diverse team.
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS Solution Architect Associate certification or equivalent.
Familiarity designing, developing, integrating, testing, and deploying software in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
Familiarity operating in AWS: EC2, EKS, S3, SQS, SNS, and Lambda.
Familiarity with PostgreSQL or another relational database.
