ResponsibilitiesThis is a full time remote position within the United States. The Engineering Manager is responsible for the roadmap and overall management of a technology portfolio of either applications or infrastructure components. The main competency of a Technology Manager center on the disciplines of technology management to ensure the portfolio effectively meets short and long term Mayo requirements. Technology Managers assess technology effectiveness to ensure alignment with performance, cost, architectural and business requirements. The Technology Manager develops short and long term plans working with the Office of IT Strategy and Architecture as well as the Office of Information Security to ensure the technology portfolio components align with overall direction and meets Mayo requirements. Technology Managers are responsible for developing high performance operations and developing tech culture based teams to delivery technology upgrades, enhancements, integrations and level three on call support while ensuring direct report development and training needs are met. Technology Managers provide structure, guidance and support for budgeting, capital, and Opex planning for delivery of technology. May serve as Secretary, Assistant Secretary or member of IT for institutional committees.Responsibilities: Create the Engineering roadmap and overall management of a technology portfolio of products.  Collaborate with software engineers to analyze, develop, and test functional requirements Work with team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility Build current operational services to a microservice architecture Work in an Agile/SAFe/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software against aggressive schedules Establish architectural principles, select design patterns, and then mentor team members on their appropriate application Lead engineering/architect approaches for Adobe Experience Manager and integrated platformsFacilitate and drive communication between front-end engineers, back-end engineers, and other partner teams such as Product and Experience Design (XD) Build the culture of Operational and Engineering Excellence.  Required Technology experience: Working experience with Adobe Experience Manager (6.5 preferred)  Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle (SDLC) including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Experience in defining and managing Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery strategies Experience in enabling Feature Flagging, A/B testing, Blue Green, and Canary Deployments Establishing and owning Operational Excellence patterns to enable highly resilient applications Experience in establishing and managing strategies for Test Automation, Unit Testing, Monitoring, Site reliability engineering, Application Security Preferred Technology Experience: Deep experience in one of the following as well as good experience in at least two or more others Experience with Enterprise Content Management Systems (Sitecore)Experience with content management system migrationsContinuous Integration using Adobe Cloud Manager, Git Hub Actions or Azure Pipelines Java, HTL, React, JavaScript, Spring-boot, GraphQLExperience with JCR, sling request processing and OSGi bundlesExperience with tools like Jira, GitHub, SharePoint, Azure Boards etc. Managed services, IAAS, PAAS Cloud technology - GCP preferred GKE, IaaCWhy Mayo Clinic?Mayo Clinic is the nation's best hospital (U.S. News & World Report, 2022-2023) and ranked #1 in more specialties than any other care provider. Eligibility may vary.QualificationsBachelor's degree with 6 years of experience, which includes 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience; Or, Associate's Degree with 8 years of experience, which includes 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience and commitment to obtain a Bachelor's degree within 4 years. Experienced with committee- and consensus-managed, physician-led organization.Other Qualifications: Requires skill in effective decision making and effective consensus management. Strong understanding of and experience in Technology Management disciplines. Strong understanding of finance, business processes, budgeting and human resources development.
