Job Description

GenEdit is seeking a highly self-motivated and goal-oriented Technician/Research Associate/SRA with hands-on experience in performing immunohistochemistry and analytical histology to join our Histology team. This full-time position will be part of the team responsible for histological assessment of our novel polymer nanoparticles for in vivo gene delivery to target tissues and organs in animal models of disease. Additional duties and responsibilities may be required as needed. The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative, resourceful, and effective team player who is enthusiastic about tackling complex scientific and technical problems with novel approaches and solutions.

Under the direction of the Head of Histology, this lab-based position will work closely with colleagues on project teams advancing our novel gene delivery system for therapeutic applications in CNS, immune-based, muscular-skeletal, cardio-vascular and other diseases. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge and experience with tissue preparation, sectioning, immunohistochemical staining, and imaging to support the discovery and development of our therapeutic genetic medicine drugs. The successful candidates will be a multi-talented, self-motivated and resourceful team player that tackles technical challenges with enthusiasm, discipline, and attention to detail.

Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master degree Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Biomedical Engineering, or related subject with 1-2 years (For Technician/RA) and 2-4 years (for Senior RA) of scientific/pharma/academic research experience
• Work authorization in the US is required

Desired Skill Sets:

• Ability to execute standard procedures with accuracy, precision, and reproducibility
• Hands-on experience processing, embedding, and sectioning frozen and FFPE tissue
• Experience in developing methodology and performing histological stains, IHC/IF, and/or ISH
• Experience with slide imaging, fluorescence microscopy, image analysis and quantification Visiopharm) highly desirable
• Work cooperatively with multidisciplinary matrixed teams, keep detailed and organized lab records, and present results at team meetings
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• A creative and proactive approach to problem-solving
• High-level analytical capability
• Familiarity with SOP writing is a plus
