Senior Systems Engineer

Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time.  Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer with a background in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

• Modeling and simulation of systems
• Captures system architecture including behavior, messaging and structure in an abstract system model using SysML
• Captures system requirements with traceability in DOORS
• Develops and communicates a collaborate system engineering process involving multiple parties from different companies and organizations
• Participates in requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration and test (verification)

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Systems Modeling (UML, SysML, or similar)
• Model Driven Development using MagicDraw or Rhapsody
• Requirements Analysis
• Experience with DOORS or similar tool
• Solid knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories
• Strong written and verbal communications skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
• Integration and Test of Software and Hardware systems

PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering or equivalent
