Enterprise Architect - Principal Application Architect

Summary

This is a Lead Enterprise Architect position. The selected candidate will function at an expert level performing analytical work in the design and development of architecture strategy, overseeing the implementation of technical infrastructure and technology, and provide the architectural direction and guidance to enterprise systems. The architect will work with a large state client to plan and oversee implementation of application evolution efforts. The architect will coordinate with the various customers, contractors, and vendors in performing architectural work.

Your role in our mission

• 
  Work with technical and application managers and other lead architects to provide an enterprise solution that is scalable, adaptable, and in synchronization with changing business needs and application evolution.
• 
  Provide high-level guidance and direction to customers on enterprise architecture planning, making sure that new projects fit within the customer’s overall strategic vision.
• 
  Recommend an architecture strategy and roadmap to move the customer’s existing legacy application from an existing monolithic architecture to a modular architecture.
• 
  Review and approve analysis and recommendations for a phased architecture and application evolution migration.
• 
  Align IT strategy and planning with the customer’s business goals, ensuring projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other or from business and IT strategies.
• 
  Evaluate cloud application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment, and provisioning applications on AWS.
• 
  Assist with the development of policies, standards, and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation, and use of IT within the organization.
• 
  Oversee, review, and approve application architecture documents and standards.
• 
  Ensure seamless integration between all architectures that interact and/or interface with the customer’s application
• 
  Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
• 
  Strong skills in application administration, design, and architecture.

  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for design, coordination and testing of applications

  Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel

What we're looking for

• 
  Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering, computer sciences or related field preferred
• 
  Twelve or more years of application architecture and/or product development experience
• 
  Broad experience working with Cloud Technologies in AWS
• 
  Broad expertise in migration of legacy monolithic systems to Cloud native modular solutions
• 
  Experience working with software systems, applications, and network markets
• 
  Experience working with technical products, vendors, and families of technologies and company hardware and software products
• 
  Experience working with broad business area and knowledge of competitor products and services
• 
  Experience working with application design principles and product configurations
• 
  Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware, and software to understand product line software and hardware
• 
  Experience working with software development life cycle and client requirements
• 
  Experience with Health Care systems and related security standards such as HIPPA, HITECH, MITA, NIST 800, etc. a plus.
• 
  Certification in Architect standards such as TOGAF a plus
