The National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH) seeks an energetic and skilled Membership and Marketing Manager. This position is ideal for a membership professional who is excited about improving the experience for our members and is seeking an opportunity to grow within an expanding professional organization. This position is responsible for handling the day-to-day activities of the membership department, including membership marketing, recruitment and retention, and membership campaigns resulting in membership growth. S/he regularly interacts with members and provides excellent customer service, so members feel supported by NPWH and understand the value of their membership.  This position manages and collaborates with the Social Media and Digital Communications Associate. 

Membership Operations and Customer Service

  • Develops and manages annual plans for membership recruitment, retention, and engagement.
  • Oversees the membership business process and data standards used in the association management system YM.
  • Works with the CEO to prepare and manage the department budget.
  • Working with the Director of Operations, develops and disseminates monthly membership reports.
  • Working with the Director of Operations, ensure renewals are conducted in a timely manner, including paper and email reminders
  • Supports team when needed with oversight of email mailboxes, and responds accordingly to various member requests
  • Manages all activities related to conferences in which NPWH has a presence. This includes selecting collateral materials, packing, shipping, inventory management, and organizing materials to be shipped to the conference site.
  • Supports the annual meeting with onsite customer service to members and registrants

 Membership Recruitment and Retention                                

  • Works with NPWH Team to develop and implement membership recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies.
  • Manages all recruitment and retention mailings, including creating data files, ensuring adequate supplies, and managing the mailing process.
  • Working with the accounting team, tracks the information of membership payments.
  • Manages onboarding and engagement of new members. Conducts new onboarding seminars for new members every other month.
  • Connects with members to articulate membership benefits, engage them further with the association, and strategize to increase our membership growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  Marketing                                                                                             

  • Working with the Social Media and Communications Associate, managing the membership marketing & communications schedule, and coordinating activities with and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinates department contributions to NPWH publications.
  • Tracks marketing efforts and works with the team to improve outreach results.
  • Oversees the Social Media and Digital Communications Associate.

Qualifications: 

  • At least four years of progressive membership experience in an association or nonprofit.
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in recruiting and retaining members.
  • Solid skill set in marketing and communication; sales experience a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to write succinctly and persuasively, as well as interact effectively and cordially with members (via phone, email, and in-person)
  • Experience working with a membership database (Your Membership (YM) is a plus); demonstrated ability to manage and maintain data records with accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organize, prioritize, and manage complex projects with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work independently, but also contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Must be energetic, self-starting, solutions and detail-oriented, and have a strong commitment to the mission and goals of the association.
  • Ability to travel as needed, including mandatory travel to the Annual Conference each fall (1 week)
