Honeywell’s ACST team is seeking an Advanced R&D Engineer/Scientist (Electrical/Mechanical Engineer/Applied Physicist) with a breadth of experience in electromagnet design, measurement, and operation, with an emphasis on cryogenic operation for our Broomfield, CO location.

Key Responsibilities
Directing the design, fabrication, assembly, and commissioning of magnet systems
Applying optimization theory using standard symbolic and/or numerical toolkit
Conducting fundamental physical investigations that utilize electromagnetic systems
Partnering with subject matter experts to design and/or operate cryogenic systems
Taking initiative to perform tasks with evolving requirements and minimal direction
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering field
5+ years of experience designing and operating electromagnet systems
U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain government security clearance
WE VALUE
Master’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics or related field
Experience using high performance computing resources for numerical model development
History of developing superconducting magnet systems
Experience developing and characterizing superconducting magnet components, such as quench detection/protection, superconducting joints, and persistent current switches
Experience designing systems for coupled electromagnetic, thermal, and structural physics
Knowledge of magnetic field sensing technology, such as MRI
Knowledge of software for magnet design, e.g., Comsol, ANSYS, or similar
Knowledge of Matlab, Python, LabView in a lab environment.
Capacity to embrace a culture of teamwork to overcome challenging design tasks while maintaining awareness of individual strengths and weaknesses

Non-Incentive Eligible
Salary Range: $101,000. - $151,000.
