Position: Systems Developer I
Location: Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii
Experience: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible relevant industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Additional relevant industry experience may be substituted for education, with one year of experience being equal to one year of education.
Education: Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field of study highly desired
Type: Full-time; Contract
Schedule: As an exempt position, responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and non-business or weekend hours.
Pay: $38.46/hour PLUS continuous career mentorship
Staffing Solutions of Hawaii is seeking a Systems Developer I to join a growing and dynamic team!
Job Description:
- Partners with cross-functional teams of leadership, developers, data analysts, technologists, subject matter experts, and vendors to deliver strategic capabilities, solve operational challenges, and understand data needs
- Investigates and explores business problems to find effective and efficient solutions
- Collaborates with R&D peers on solution design, architecture and code reviews.
- Learns new technologies and techniques. Builds prototypes to evaluate and prove design and technology concepts and quantifies technical constraints and limitations
- Designs and builds data models and products for optimal storage and retrieval, and data pipelines that move and transform data between both internal and external sources and services
- Optimizes existing data products and pipelines to ensure quality, reliability, and performance
- Creates and launches new applications that empower users and streamlines their experience, and services that expand capabilities and enable process orchestration
- Implements productivity solutions based on data analytics and the automation of repetitive business processes and development tasks to improve company operations
Position Requirements:
- Experience contributing to the design of new and current systems, including the consideration of architecture, data models, design patterns, reliability, complexity, maintainability, and scaling
- Experience implementing data integration using different strategies and methods such as Extract-Transform-Load (ETL), Extract-Load-Transform (ELT), Change-Data-Capture (CDC), streaming, virtualization, replication, etc.
- Experience implementing data processing with data structures and formats such as XML, JSON, EDI, CSV, etc.
- Database experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar database technologies
- Strong knowledge of SQL, relational data structures and modeling concepts, tuning and optimization, data quality and validation
- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Python, Javascript, C# or similar
