HelpDuties* Provides senior-level expertise and guidance necessary to lead in the development, implementation, and maintenance of key Agency reporting tools and systems used by the FDIC.



  • Provides examination and supervisory expertise in analyzing, developing, and implementing automated tools and systems. This includes working closely with senior Washington management, field management, and other FDIC staff in order to determine capabilities needed for effective examination and supervisory tools and systems.

  • Develops automated analytical work products. Programs medium-sized automated examination and reporting applications and actively supports the development of automated applications.

  • Serves as a project manager / systems analyst responsible for all phases of the system development life cycle from project initiation (high level data / reporting requirements, system design concepts, software solution) through implementation.

  • Analyzes the impact of proposed solutions across existing technology platforms. Works with other FDIC divisions and contractors to define / modify tools, systems and applications.

  • Understands FDIC's systems development life cycle.* Serves as client Project Manager for DIT-led application development efforts related to DCP business analysis and reporting applications.


Consults with FDIC business analysts and end users to identify, clarify, prioritize, and document examination and reporting requirements.



  • Actively participates in design discussions and develops business capabilities. Develops tools and systems including automated business processes, reporting, and job scheduling to support the division's examination and supervisory effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Maintains effective working relationships with DCP staff and with personnel from other divisions to develop analysis and reporting tools and resolve issues related to requirements, analysis, data collection, information sharing, and system implementation.


HelpRequirementsConditions of EmploymentTHIS IS A TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT NOT TO EXCEED 6 MONTHS. The selectee will be given a temporary promotion if eligible or be placed on a lateral detail if already serving at the advertised grade level on a permanent basis.


This assignment may be terminated early based on management's needs. If temporarily promoted, the temporary promotion cannot exceed one year, nor can it be made permanent.


At the end of the temporary promotion (if temporarily promoted), the employee's basic pay will be set at the rate received prior to being temporarily promoted, regardless of the temporary promotion.


The pay rate shall be increased to reflect pay increases (if any) received while temporarily promoted, as long as the resulting rate does not exceed the new range maximum.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.


g., professional; philanthropic, religious / spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-14 grade level or above in the Federal service.


Specialized experience is defined as experience in monitoring, functionally modifying, and coordinating enhancements to IT systems, including the supervision of codes used by end users to maintain the system's data and business utility.


In addition to meeting the specialized experience, applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
