EDP Real-Time Principal Engineer

As a Barclays EDP Real-Time Principal Engineer, you will work in a small highly-technical team of software engineers that develop, deliver, and maintain a central enterprise streaming platform catering to multiple tenants. You will promote usage of the platform by providing adequate technical support to all clients and provide visibility of platform operations with comprehensive documentation, monitoring, and reporting. You will serve as an ambassador of the platform leading ideation, and socialization.

What will you be doing?
* Working in a team to design, architect, engineer, and support a central enterprise platform that specializes in transporting and processing of streaming data
* Championing the adoption of the platform by creating compelling incentives in the form of automated services, lean processes, and quality documentation
* Providing technical support as architectural and engineering expertise to new and existing clients on the platform
* Networking, attending Town Halls and participating in events that raise the corporate equity of this role, its team, and the department
* Completing all minimally required tasks such as timesheets, corporate training, and other administrative requirements
What we're looking for:
* Ability to breakdown complex problems using appropriate design patterns and best practices demonstrating excellent knowledge foundation and problem-solving skills
* Experience in all aspects of the enterprise software development lifecycle with a track record of delivering robust software quickly and continuously
* Experience with architecting and engineering large distributed platforms including end-to-end infrastructure, data, and application development
* Experience handling production incidents with the ability to conduct effective triage and mitigation while communicating details to stakeholders
Skills that will help you in the role:
* Knowledge of data architectures (Lambda and Kappa) with experience in working with either
* Experience with data engineering to facilitate handling, quality, monitoring, and transport of Big Data
* Experience with software development in a Hybrid-Cloud environment
* Experience with maintaining central platforms having multiple tenants
