What you'll do


The Finance Business Transformation Sr. Director will lead and deliver operational excellence priorities across all activities in the Chief Accounting Officer s organization and the broader finance teams. This Sr. Director role will be a strategic member of the CAO leadership team and will identify, design and drive execution across priorities and projects for the company. They will be focused on helping enhance and transform our business processes and technology as well as partner closely with our Controllership, Revenue, Tax, Legal, International, People and Operations teams to ensure we are planning and optimizing for future growth. This person will lead, grow, influence, and inspire our cross functional teams to enable and deliver on DocuSign s strategic growth goals.


This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer and is designated Flex.


Responsibility


  • Serve as strategic partner to broader DocuSign Finance/Accounting leadership on a wide range of growth, operational and organizational topics
  • Partner closely with Executive Leadership team on strategic priorities to achieve DocuSign s long term financial goals
  • Develop and manage complex, large scale business programs and change management strategy impacting DocuSign s Accounting organization
  • Serve as strategic partner to broader DocuSign leadership on a wide range of growth, operational and organizational topics
  • Interface with executive level management to evaluate and advise on the financial impact of short and long-term growth and operational plans
  • Partner with business leaders to drive growth objectives across the business in areas of operating leverage
  • Help transform our business processes and financial systems, including our ongoing evolution and supporting operational systems as we continue to grow and scale our business
  • Partner across the finance and operations teams to drive execution, ensure alignment on growth and operational priorities, while ensuring best practices and collaboration
  • Manage large-scale operational budgets and control mechanisms of related programs
  • Bring meaningful and quantifiable results to programs by increasing the success rates by delivering on the business case
  • Inspire change and collaboration among diverse and distributed teams
  • Encourage the sharing of best practices and insights across all members of the team
  • Coach and develop direct-reporting organization continuously


What you bring


Basic


  • 15+ years of experience in Operational leadership roles focused on quality and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Bachelor s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or equivalent experience
  • Experience and knowledge in cross functional business process and end-to-end business and financial systems - including ERP, forecasting, Q2C, R2R, P2P and Q2C processes and systems


Preferred


  • Experience and knowledge of transformation at scale, along with building, mentoring and scaling teams and processes
  • Independent, self-motivated individual with a positive, service-focused attitude and with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Deep subject matter expertise in large scale, growth initiatives - especially on the business process and systems areas
  • Strong collaborator and partner with demonstrated ability to drive cross functional collaboration across business, finance, and external contractor teams at all levels
  • Desire to challenge the status quo
  • Analytical thinker with honed problem solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to streamline and simplify complexity
  • Extensive network of external relationships that can be leveraged to keep a pulse on the business, industry dynamics, capital markets and access to established and emerging leadership talent
  • Ability to build productive cross functional teams utilizing different skill sets and perspectives, prioritizing team objectives and managing scope, managing and reconciling conflicting team member opinions and inspiring high-performing teams
  • Capable of successfully managing C-level relationships and effectively partnering on financial planning and strategy development and execution
  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills in both formal and informal settings, and both written and verbal
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion and a belief that diverse teams bring better business and customer outcomes
  • Travel expectations: 10%. This position may require national or international travel
  • Master s degree or higher, CFA, and/or CPA
  • Software industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP/non-GAAP standards and reporting, GAAS, AICPA, and PCAOB auditing standards, and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Excellent project management, communication, influencing and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated action orientation in using creative approaches, utilizing tools, peers, and political savvy to overcome roadblocks
  • Advanced Excel skills including: Pivot Tables, VLookup, and macros to perform analytics on financial statements and analyze financial ratios
