Software Engineer API (Remote)

Overview:

This role is 100% REMOTE - Must be based in US



Foot Locker Inc is seeking a API Engineer, be part of major transformation initiative for Foot Locker digital assets supporting web, mobile and store customers. As a member of the team, you will be designing and implementing API Gateway, Cloud Native RESTful APIs used by our websites, native mobile apps and partners consuming internal / external services. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving complex business problems by delivering simple, robust and maintainable solutions using continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.



Responsibilities:

Design and implementing RESTful API’s using proven design principles.

Expert in API Gateway platform – APIGEE / ZUUL experience is preferred

Work with backend micro services team to increase the overall availability of APIs.

Work in an Agile/Scrum, test driven development environment and participate in the full development life cycle.

Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams to find technical solutions for complex problems.



Qualifications:

Experience in API Gateway platforms such as APIGEE, Zuul etc.

Experience in building scalable RESTful API’s.

Experience in service transformation, routing, enrichment, and orchestration.

Solid experience with Java, JEE technologies, Spring and related frameworks.

Good understanding of OO principles, data structures and algorithms.

Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.

Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Chef etc.)

Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes and Swarm is a plus

Experience working on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud platforms.

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or closely related field and 5 years of related work experience.

Benefits:

The annual base salary range is $70000 - $105000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
