The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about technology and deeply empathizes with internal and external customer needs. They are comfortable in conversation with engineering teams as well as stakeholders ranging from data scientists to senior leaders. They are able to navigate ambiguous and drive partnership with other teams to actionable outcomes. They have experience driving feasibility assessments to provide clarity and focus on ML investments

In this role, you ll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in four key areas:

• Human Centered

  • You ll lead sourcing and synthesis of customer discovery efforts to understand customer needs to drive the long term vision for your product

  • You ll turn these customer insights into actionable strategies that will define the priorities for your team and rally your stakeholders to your vision
    

• Business Focused

  • You ll own and prioritize the long-term (12-18 months) product roadmap to deliver on business outcomes, working closely with a cross-functional team to ensure that all the right resources are aligned to ensure that and your team will be successful

  • You ll define KPIs for your product and will be responsible for measuring and tracking to those measures, with an eye to adjusting and refining your roadmap as the data dictates
    

• Technology Driven

  • You ll have an end-to-end understanding of your product and how it fits into the larger ecosystem to be able to anticipate impacts from changes in other parts of the business

  • You ll work closely with tech leadership and architecture to understand the tradeoffs of technical decisions and how they impact the ultimately customer experience your team will deliver always looking to ensure you re using the best tool for the job
    

• Transformational Leadership

  • You ll rally your teams and senior stakeholders to your product vision and proactively leverage relationships throughout the ecosystem to align to your vision and influence prioritization across partner teams

  • You ll be responsible for attracting and retaining top talent to your team and mentoring and developing associates on their product career

In this role you will:

• Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers and delivery leads to deliver products that customers love.

• Design ways to leverage cloud-native technologies and products to reveal the insights hidden within huge volumes of numeric and textual data

• Be conversant in machine learning models and their phases of development, from design through training, signal-to-noise ratios, evaluation, validation, and implementation.

• Easily understand and explain the true value of models to customers, and flex your interpersonal skills to translate the complexity of your work into tangible business goals.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor s Degree

• At least 5 years of experience in product management, product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master s Degree

• 3+ years of experience in Agile product management

• 3+ years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

• 1+ year of product management or engineering experience in Machine Learning training or Machine Learning inference technologies

• 1+ year of experience with Machine Learning training (train, test, evaluation, measurement)

• 1+ year of experience with data processing pipelines

• 1+ year of experience with backend services

• 1+ year of experience with user-facing applications that use Machine Learning services

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City: $195,200 - $222,800 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management

Location is San Francisco, California: $206,800 - $236,000 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management

Remote roles in other areas of New York & California, and across Colorado & Washington: $165,400 - $188,800 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
