    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

      Provide leadership in the administration of the grant consistent with grant applicationCoordinate and oversee project activitiesSupport outreach efforts to increase the access, and retention, and transfer success of Hispanic and low-income students.Perform other grant management duties.Oversee the coordination of services to students who participate in program activities.Ensure accurate documentation of grant fiscal records, student records, and evaluation data.Collaborate with internal and external evaluators to develop reports.Assumes management responsibility for HSI initiatives, functions, programs, services, and activities. Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the program. Recommends, within program policy, appropriate service levels and resources; recommends and administers policies and procedures. Evaluates existing services and student needs by attending campus and offsite meetings, workshops, and conferences, and participates in strategic planning efforts. Develops and standardizes procedures and methods to improve and continuously monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of the assigned program, service delivery methods, and procedures; assesses and monitors workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identifies opportunities for improvement and makes recommendations to the Vice President of Student Affairs and the Director of Diversity and Success Coaching. Participates in the selection and training of program personnel; evaluates and reviews work for conformance with grant award, including program and project priorities; responds to staff questions and concerns. Manages and participates in development, administration, and oversight of the program budget; monitors program expenditures to ensure compliance with established laws and regulations, as well as funding agency requirements. Conducts evaluation studies and prepares annual and progress reports to the U.S. Department of Education, as well as the University Cabinet, The Office of the President, and external partners. Establishes and maintains relationships with other college and university partners, school district officials, community leaders, various organizations, and public agencies to encourage participation, stimulate interest, and coordinate campus projects with assigned programs and activities.Plans and coordinates research and data necessary to measure program effectiveness; maintains participant data and statistics. Attends and participates in professional group meetings and various committees and advisory groups; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in HSI Initiatives appropriate to the assignment, and other related services. Advises, provides guidance, and prepares and delivers presentations on issues, trends, and advocacy pertaining to the HSI Initiatives programs and services. Maintains and directs the maintenance of working and official departmental files. Monitors changes in laws, regulations, and technology that may affect the University or program operations; implements policy and procedural changes as required. Prepares, reviews, and presents staff reports, various management and information updates, and reports on special projects as assigned by the Grant Executive Committee. Learns and applies emerging technologies, as necessary, to perform duties in an efficient, organized, and timely manner. Serves as a member of the Student Affairs staff team, participating in department-wide meetings, and supporting appropriate programs and initiatives.Performs related duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    3-5 years experience at the director level in higher education or similar setting. Professional experience in student success or constituent services including development, implementation and/or management of grants, staff management and budget oversight. Experience with Hispanic Community Organizations desired.
