Job Details

The ESS Product Engineer Specialist will function as part of a strategic NEW technical team focusing on the user experience of customers buying our Energy Storage Systems. You will work in close coordination with executive leadership, sales, engineering, and operations. Keeping in alignment with actionable market requirements analysis; strategically influences the BESS roadmap anticipating market needs and threats. Work on market requirements documents. Edit technical documentation and support the policing of documentation policies. Review documentation from sales to service for flow and uniformity. Heavy research and generation of presentation materials for conferences or training classes with customers and other consumers in attendance.

This position does require regular travel to remain current on all aspects of the current ESS market to ensure success which does include meeting with customers, EPCs, AHJs, engineering, etc. is expected. This position reports to the Senior Technical Sales Manager of ESS who is responsible for product design and documentation as part of the sales department.

~ MUST HAVES ~

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or degree with EE focus or exceptionally strong EE experience with a BS

Solid state converter and lithium-ion battery characteristics expertise

Battery system use case expertise.

Technical experience in at least one large scale battery system project

Product selection through to commissioning.

The candidate shall understand the technical steps of such project

Self-motivated team player, comfortable operating without day-to-day direction

Three years of direct Energy Storage product design experience

Experience hardware product management or high volume manufacturing

Strong product knowledge with ability to represent/market

Relationship builder and skilled communicator

In depth technical requirement in 2 different market sectors (CAISO, ERCOT etc.)

Excellent skill in 2 of AutoCAD, Visio and Sketchup; be proficient in 3D drafting

Multitask, set deadlines, rearrange priorities efficiently and monitor and track feature development and cancellation.

Proficient in MS project and Gannt Chart generation and analysis.

Deep understanding of UL9540/A, NFPA, NEC and IBC.

Excellent technical writing skills application notes, manuals etc.

Prepared to travel up to 50% of the time out of home state to include Europe and Asia,
