Job Details

Who you are:
You are a Principal Engineer / Architect with at least 7-10+ years of experience. You are an effective top technical decision maker with great leadership and communication skills. You have architected and supported complex systems and you're an expert on the following technologies:

• Java
• Kafka or equivalent messaging bus
• Elasticsearch or similar search technologies
• API Design
• Containerization - Docker and Kubernetes preferred
• Event driven architectures
• Microservices and distributed systems
• (need to at least know about all of the above, be able to put it all together, able to really deep dive with our engineering teams)

The role:
You'll be working across teams to really help make decisions that will shape our architecture and grow our system! We have various teams working on APIs, Data Pipelines, Machine Learning and search indexes, and you'll be the person to help fit all of those pieces together. We want you to be knowledgeable on all of the parts of our system. You don't necessarily need to know how every single technology above works down to the last detail but you do need to understand how it all essentially works together. For example, you don't need to know exactly how Elasticsearch works but you do need to know how Search works overall.

You must have:

• Messaging bus experience
• Event driven architecture experience
• Microservices and distributed systems experience
• Experience with data pipelines
• Experience with API design
• Incredible communication, leadership, and decision making skills :)
