Job Summary and Qualifications

At Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, we are looking for a compassionate and reliable registered nurse for our Behavioral Health Unit. As a BHU RN, you are responsible for performing initial and on-going physical and psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice. In addition to administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds and monitoring vital signs, you will also evaluate patients response to interventions and revise nursing plans of care as needed. Our Behavioral Health RNs participate in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient

You must monitor, record and communicate patient conditions as appropriate while utilizing computerized documentation systems

You will initiate/document discharge planning and patient teaching

Requirements

• Must hold a current license from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact license with eligibility to practice in Virginia
• ADN degree (BSN preferred)
• Current BLS certification
• Crisis intervention skills, calm demeanor and high energy for a fast paced working environment
