Responsibilities
- Participate in marketing, writing proposals, winning work, and developing and maintaining client relationships.
- Initiate, plan, execute, and deliver small, medium and large size transportation related projects.
- Perform design tasks and/or lead a design team on various horizontal projects; including roads ranging from local rural roads to urban arterials and interstate highways.
- Coordinate the work of a design team and outside consultants to develop Plans, Specifications and Estimate packages for multiple projects and a variety of clients.
- Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure both client satisfaction and objectives are met.
- Participate in client-rich professional organizations and technical societies.
- Train and mentor young professionals and direct design technicians and CADD staff in plan production.
Required Skills and Experience
- BSCE required.
- Idaho PE registration required (or ability to attain through reciprocity within 3 months); licenses in adjoining states a plus.
- Minimum 10+ years engineering experience with a background in transportation and/or site civil design, including a combination of roadway, interstate, traffic, storm water, irrigation design and utility relocations. Traffic signal and roundabout design a plus.
- A minimum of 5 year experience managing tasks, small, medium and large sized projects and professional and technical staff.
- Experience managing project budgets.
- Solid understanding of transportation design and construction standards. Additional experience related to traffic engineering, environmental conditions / constraints, hydraulics and drainage experience a plus.
- Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets.
- Demonstrated skills developing relationships with municipal, county and state agencies in support of transportation and/or site civil projects; experience with ACHD, LHTAC and ITD a plus
- Experience with MicroStation, Inroads, Open Roads Designer (ORD), Autodesk Civil3D 2018.
- Microsoft Office software applications (including MS Project) experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and management.
- Adaptability and ability to respond quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Positive attitude and team mentality required.
- ID PE or ability to obtain within first 3 months
