Intern, Corporate Communications

Overview

As the Communications Intern you will work alongside the Corporate Communications and Public Relations team on all aspects of the internal and external communication strategy to ensure unified, consistent and clear messaging in support of WPG’s mission, vision, values and strategic business objectives.

Essential Functions

This role will assist all efforts affiliated with:

• Content development for internal and external communications


• Internal collateral and signage calendar project management


• Marketing service requests for graphic design needs


• Colleague engagement strategy, planning and execution support


• Social media including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Yammer in partnership with Digital Marketing


• Company-wide philanthropic give back initiatives including Pelotonia, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Mental Health Awareness, Back-To-School Supply Drive, Domestic Violence Awareness Month and others as assigned


• Event planning for internal quarterly Town Halls and conferences


• Employer branding and recruiting HR communications support


• Press release and media advisory template creation


• Media relations support as needed


• Reputation Management, Issues Management and Crisis Communications support as needed


• Perform research and market analysis as needed


• ESG and DEI support as needed


• Corporate website updates and blog posts as needed


• Internal and earned media metrics and reporting support


• Special projects as assigned

Skills and Abilities

• Detail-oriented and exceptionally well-organized


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Confidence communicating in-person, via email and over the phone


• Passion for learning and an eagerness for development


• Self-motivated and solutions-oriented problem solver

Qualifications, Education and Experience

• Current undergraduate student with preferred majors in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field
