Senior Engineer

Overview

National Programs Team enables Frito Lay North America (FLNA) productivity, compliance and/or volume growth through cost effective & time sensitive national installations. This position will support scoping, scheduling & accurately maintaining budget. Selected candidate will interface with various levels of the organization and work collaboratively across multiple business teams and functions.

Responsibilities

* Define manufacturing and unit operation needs for project scope requirements and documentation
* Ability to independently lead medium and large projects
* Apply Engineering principles to problem solving and managing unexpected changes
* Participate in and lead cross-functional teams of colleagues and outside resources, including plant personnel, equipment vendors, engineering and construction contractors
* Manage cost by developing project budgets, maintaining cost tracking tools and actively controlling project costs to deliver project cost requirements. Create project funding documents
* Demonstrate time management skills by developing project timelines, maintaining time management tools in multiple formats and actively controlling project schedules, ensuring project schedule attainment
* Manage procurement including analyzing quotes, writing procurement documents and tracking project procurement information. This also includes developing and leveraging technical specifications and writing inspection acceptance test plans
* Develop, manage and execute equipment installation and start-up plans while supervising outside contractors and vendors
* Manage multiple project deliverables, accelerated timelines and competing priorities
* Adequately manage, communicate and mitigate project risks
* Positively influence at all levels within and outside the organization as a thought leader
* Providing insightful analysis of business results to senior Supply Chain Leaders on performance and ad-hoc analyses that lead to problem solving and business improving recommendations

Qualifications

Travel : 30%-60%, Project Phase Dependent

Qualifications/Requirements:

* BS Engineering or relevant Degree from a rigorous graduate program with demonstrated high academic achievement
* 5+ years of professional experience
* Track-record of effectively managing projects (Scope, Budget & Schedule) to complete multiple, time sensitive and competing priorities with minimum guidance
* Ability to cross-functionally partner with and influence/inspire key decision makers in the organization
* Ability to lead and drive an agenda through the organization to deliver results
* Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels internally and external vendors
