Position Summary:
The therapist is an essential part of the Apparo staff who provides primary, preventive, and episodic care, being mindful of the patients’ multiple diagnoses, multiple therapies, and rights and responsibilities. The therapist will assume an active role becoming involved with quality improvement activities, parent meetings and other clinical activities.
General Duties:
- Review medical histories and evaluate patients who present to the facility via standardized assessment.
- Determine therapeutic disabilities and administer therapeutic treatment services to patients; write appropriate professional evaluations and treatment plans within Electronic Medical Record within a timely manner (less than one week of service date).
- Document the daily notes within 3 days of treatment in SOAP format with care plan inclusive of non-pharmaceutical treatment, diagnostic testing as appropriate, age-appropriate anticipatory guidelines, frequency and duration of treatment and reassessment intervals.
- Develop rapport with patients and their caregivers striving to build a relationship that facilitates marked familiarity with patients medical and treatment history, care needs and psychosocial factors to manage patient’s risk factors and improve patient outcomes.
- Interpret diagnostic test reports in order to develop appropriate care plans and monitor their effectiveness and direct coordination of care based on patients’ health, treatment and social needs.
- Provide encounter information necessary for billing purposes (i.e., indicating appropriate CPT & ICD-9 or 10 codes for services rendered).
- Supervise professional students during clinical rotation at AA.
- Assume an active membership role in national, state, and local therapy societies.
- Utilize standard precautions as related to exposure to blood and body fluids, and / or hazardous chemicals, as well as proper body mechanics.
- Collaborate with teaching staff on weekly lesson plan accommodations and incorporate therapeutic options to improve student success.
- Collaborate with teaching staff within the classroom to improve functional therapy and learning opportunities.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
