Job Summary
Proper monitoring of residents ensures the safety and security of the facility, and this is attained through careful supervision. The assistant follows a predetermined schedule established by the Nurse Manager while performing their duties. To cater to the needs of the residents, support is provided in activities such as bathing, dressing, using the restroom, walking, and eating.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Extends support to the community's occupants in fulfilling their personal hygiene needs by assisting them in bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming as directed in their care program.
- Executes resident care in accordance with the care plan drawn up by the Nurse Manager and physician orders.
- Provides support with personal care to residents after finishing their meals.
- Administering medication to residents is conducted with the assistance of a caregiver who follows established protocols, as directed by physician orders.
- Conducting monthly checks or physician-prescribed measurements of resident vital signs and weights.
- Composes detailed notes of observations and important information in both the resident chart and communication book.
- Provides assistance in the preparation and service of meals, snacks, and refreshments.
- Accurate and policy-consistent variance reports are crafted by the assistance.
- The communication book and MAR's are employed to ensure that reports are submitted and received promptly.
- Performs all the given duties efficiently and effectively.
- Additional work may be required on occasion.
Additional Requirements
Preferred:
Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
Certifications - Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - South Dakota Board of Nursing; Medication Assistant-Certified (MA-C) - Accredited University or accredited training professionals.
Physical Requirements:
Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
