Health Management Associates is a rapidly growing Healthcare consulting enterprise seeking talent in our IT department.We have an immediate opening available for an IT Security Administrator.Hybrid and Remote work options are available.We would love to find someone that is commutable to either our Lansing, MI or Chicago, IL office for occasional in-office meetings (strong flexibility for the right candidate).

Job Summary:

Plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks, data and information systems. Additional responsibilities include ensuring appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure, as well as responding to security incidents, potential breaches and computer viruses.

Work Performed

  1. Serve as member of security operations team

  • Encrypt data transmissions and configure firewalls to conceal confidential information as it is being transmitted and to keep out tainted digital transfers.
  • Develop plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs.
  • Review violations of computer security procedures and discuss procedures with violators to ensure violations are not repeated.
  • Monitor use of data files and regulate access to safeguard information in computer files.
  • Monitor current security alerts and determine appropriate actions to be taken.
  • Modify computer systems to incorporate new software, correct errors, or change individual access status.
  • Assist in performance of risk assessments and execute tests of data processing systems to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
  • Perform security evaluations on new and existing software and information systems.
  • Confer with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes.
  • Coordinate implementation of computer system plans with establishment personnel and outside vendors.

  • Serve as member of the CCRT and perform incident response processes.

    • Detect and respond to incidents
    • Review system impact and identify mitigations
    • Create reports for IT

  • Serves in Administrator role in the following areas: secure DNS; email protection/encryption; PKI; and firewalls as well as SIEM, DLP, EDR and AV solutions.

    • Creates and customizes policies for email as required for PHI, PII, PCI, GLB, and HITRUST.
    • Assists with management and hardening of Microsoft solutions, including, but not limited to, Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Office 365, Exchange, Exchange Online, Active Directory, and SharePoint Online.

  • Provides second level support for IT related issues.
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Education/Training

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred.

    Experience

    At least 3-5 years of experience in data security systems and system design is required. Demonstrated proficiency with firewalls and other related security systems. Security+, CEH, CCNA Security, or other related security certifications are required.

    Working Conditions

    Work is sedentary in nature and performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and clients. Work may be stressful at times.

    Physical/Mental Demands

    Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation; stooping, climbing, and bending to files and supplies; mobility to complete errands; stand/sit for up to eight hours each day; ability to communicate clearly when using the telephone; requires sitting; standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and twisting at times; moderate levels of stress. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
