Each summer, the program offers interns the opportunity to engage in career building activities while simultaneously learning and applying industry-leading practices.\n\n \n\nThe Data Management function orchestrates data governance across sites, regions, and functions to enable and maintain best-in-class data quality for all users (customers, suppliers, vendors, sales representatives, and 3rd party partners).\n\n \n\nThe Data Management team is focused on providing support for the Data Management Group and driving data initiatives to further business strategies and goals. This intern will work closely with business partners, data stewards, technology partners and domain owners to provide support in designing, implementing, and managing data standards, processes, and governance best practices.\n\n \n\n PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES \n\n \nCollaborate across business functions and systems to identify opportunities to improve data processes and quality.\n \nConduct data discovery and analysis & proactively identify data sources, data users, and data processes.\n \nCreate reports & presentations, conduct research, analyze data, and present trends to management. Generate and record ideas for improvement.\n \n \n\nWork with Data Management Project Leads to provide project support including preparing meeting minutes, tracking timelines, developing workshop materials, documenting next steps, and communicating project updates.\n\n \n \n \n\nParticipate in and support workshops with key stakeholders across sites, regions, and functions.\n\n \n \nDevelop and maintain documentation and materials for standards and governance, data validation, data quality reporting, data flow diagrams, business processes, training, and change management.\n \nAnalyze data’s business and technical processes to identify and improve data integrity issues through root cause analysis; reports, tracks, validate resolution, and monitor moving forward.\n \nConduct research on data management and governance industry trends and best practices.\n \n\n MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS \n\n \nReside in the vicinity of the internship or have ability to obtain housing\n \n21 years of age or older at the start of the internship if applicable\n \nMust be a Junior in college and graduating the following year Completing BS/BA in Business, Finance, Marketing, Information Technology or a similar analytical field\n \nAbility to organize and manage multiple projects\n \n \n\nTeamwork approach to accomplishing goals\n\n \n \n \n\nAttention to details\n\n \n \nSelf-starter & demonstrated leadership experience\n \nWorking knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint\n \n\n PHYSICAL DEMANDS \n\n \nPhysical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine\n \n \n\nPhysical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping\n\n \n \n \n\nMay require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs\n\n \n \n\n EEO STATEMENT \n\n \n\nSouthern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, an Affirmative Action/EEO employer, prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type and provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
