DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE


Awareness and compliance of all EHS systems. Provides leadership and complies with all policies regarding safe practices.


Meeting and exceeding manufacturing expectations.


Resource person to support equipment in all phases of manufacturing operation to achieve proper and efficient running conditions in support of defined manufacturing milestone performance levels.


Operates equipment to test its functioning and performance.


Analyzes production data for appropriate problem solving and provides recommendations for performance improvements. Decision-making exercised in areas authorized.


Investigate; identify areas for improvement regarding specific process metrics.


Collaborates with quality and manufacturing engineering organization to enhance equipment standardization and performance.


Identifies substandard equipment for upgrade potential.


Utilizes SPC and process quality deployment techniques to enhance existing processes, i.e. reliability, scrap reduction, speed improvement, quality, process control and process improvement.


Performs equipment preventative maintenance inspections and initiates work orders detail.


Understands the routine work details and performance standards of the position. Refers to supervisor project/task assignments and reviews when in doubt as to the correct procedure.


May coordinate projects and train others how to perform tasks without responsibility for those performing the work.


Interfaces daily with operating personnel and staff in a service role to drive process improvement, coach & teach, and assist them in operating problems.


Well-versed in both production standards and quality standards & SOPs.


Works in a manner which promotes safety and environmental compliance.


Follows GMP rules.


Report oil, grease or water leaks to supervisor or technicians.


Ensure line is clean and free from dust accumulation.


Ensure leaks are properly collected.


Be able to identify production lots for traceability purposes.


Fill out cleaning schedule.


Report any conditions which could compromise food safety.


Use only approved chemicals to be used on the floor.


Do not put any item involved in product realization on the floor.


Manage Critical control Points where applicable.


Report upset conditions.


The incumbent helps provide a safe work place by assisting in developing, promoting and following practices which prevent injury and meet legal safety requirements.


Follow all food safety guidelines while on the manufacturing floor.


Report any deviation from food safety protocol to the functional responsible personnel.


Must be flexible and be on call for support of the plant. Must be willing to work nights if the need arises.


EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS


High school diploma or equivalent and technical background with the ability to develop skills in SPC techniques.


Ability to make decisions through analyzation of data, and computer utilization.


Minimum Five to seven years’ experience Injection molding process & DOE experience


High degree of understanding regarding the closure manufacturing process, use of tools, and devices to repair and maintain equipment and facilities.


Must be conversant with mechanical principles and technical data in order to troubleshoot, perform and follow specific activities to enhance the process and train others to understand and operate equipment


Strong knowledge of Injection Molding process including closure processing parameters.


Broad knowledge of Injection Molders, auxiliary equipment, and raw materials used in the injection process.


High level of understanding, experience, and troubleshooting knowledge of closure manufacturing operations


Excellent understanding of quality standards and process defects.


Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, plus technical knowledge to visualize arrangement and relationship to static or moving parts and assemblies represented in blueprints and diagrams.


Ability to adapt to continuing changes in manufacturing process and product technology and requirements.


Willing to assume responsibility for prescribed qualitative standards, machines and materials


Excellent human relations and communication skills for training others on manufacturing process, technology, and procedures


Visual acuity and need for attention to detail.


Process and cell ownership.


This position requires the certification to operate mobile equipment. The certification process requires passing a physical, drug screen.


The position requires the employee to be trained in the use of walk behind type lifts. The employee must pass both a written and driving test.


LTTV training and certification is required.


Advanced computer experience is desired.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


1. Ability to stand, bend, walk, twist, squat, kneel, push, pull, crawl, balance, reach overhead.


2. Ability to push or pull a maximum of 50 lbs.


3. Ability to perform repetitive light upper extremity work.


4. Ability to ascend/descend ladders and stairs.


5. Ability to use and work near power tools, manufacturing equipment, utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).


6. Ability to stand for a sustained period of time throughout a 12 hour workday.


7. Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.


8. Ability to engage in shift work.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT


The manufacturing work environment includes exposure to: Operating machinery, constant noise, grease, dirt or oil. Constant exposure to moving parts and equipment requires high degree of caution and safety to avoid minor or serious injury. Temperature regulated work environment.
