Collins Aerospace is seeking to bring aboard a co-op student-employee to work with its asset management team supporting its premier FlightSense program. This co-op experience will expose the student-employee to topics in asset management including forecasting & optimization, performance measurement, and recordkeeping. Candidates with coursework in a business-related major preferred. Strong IT skills, including MS-Excel also a plus. Location: Remote, however Proximity to one of our offices in Charlotte, NC / Windsor Locks, CT / Rockford, IL can add to the co-op experience by being able to occasionally meet Collins employees on or off site. Primary Responsibilities Gain knowledge by participating in developing strategies for materials planning and SIOP Participate in the development of standardized processes within materials planning and SIOP in order to optimize the utilization of business resources and meet customer expectations for delivery. Assist and support the development of indicators that enable visibility to short and long-term market trends and demand. Learn how to Identify appropriate demand streams and support in establishing data relationship linkages. Work with product development leaders and sales and marketing teams to develop demand forecasts. Support in planning capacity and fulfillment demand with plant manufacturing operations. Participate with the manufacturing team and participate in the development of monthly production volume planning using the business forecast, inventory position, actual customer orders, and the defined capacity parameters. Gain knowledge in identifying and developing new technologies to improve materials planning and SIOP capability, sustainability, and reliability. Assist and learn tracking appropriate metrics to drive results and continuous improvement. Support in the development of processes and plans to improve supply capabilities. Learn how to establishing clear and robust metrics to measure progress through process improvements for SIOP. Basic Qualifications Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
