The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is looking for an eCommerce Specialist to join its Digital Product Strategy team.



Job Summary



The eCommerce Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations and optimization of the IAPP’s eCommerce store at iapp.org. The candidate will serve as a key contributor in the successful and on-time launch of the IAPP’s new eCommerce system and roll-out of additional features and functionality in future releases. Once launched, the candidate will manage IAPP products and promotions within the ecommerce site and review of eCommerce analytics to optimize both the customer experience and revenue opportunities.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Manage a variety of project tasks to ensure the successful and on-time launch of the IAPP’s new eCommerce Store and future releases thereof. These will range from working in partnership with the Data and Technology teams to configure our products and Store to facilitating necessary input and feedback from various business unit stakeholders for an effective, on-time launch.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations and upkeep of the Store, including managing the IAPP’s product inventory and the deployment of new products, promotions, and ongoing site improvements.


  • Help build and maintain governance for new product creation and the related process.

  • Manage promotions, recommended products, and other aspects of the front- and back-end experience.
  • Work directly with customer service to identify and trouble-shoot any issues or breaks within the system reported by customers.

  • Stay on the pulse of store, cart, promotions and promotional campaigns, and product performance analytics across both desktop and mobile experiences; regularly report out on KPIs and make recommendations for how to optimize the eCommerce experience accordingly.

  • Intimately understand the ins and outs of the IAPP’s product suite that spans certification & training, conferences & events, membership, digital and physical merchandise, and content.

  • Routinely engage with various business units to understand the operations that help support, maintain, and fulfill the IAPP’s products and services.

  • Assist and execute a variety of other tasks related to the IAPP website(s) and digital customer communications, such as updating of website content and tagging, assisting with the transition and testing of new technologies powering digital experiences, assisting in user research projects, executing user testing for new releases, and more.

  • Additional duties as assigned.




Required Skills and Experience




  • 1-2 years relevant experience plus a bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university.


  • Demonstrated, excellent attention to detail and ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks.

  • Demonstrated experience being open to change and proactive in making recommendations to improve processes or the work at hand.

  • Interest and experience gleaning insights from data and executing on strategies to take advantage of those insights.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.




Preferred Skills and Experience




  • Experience and comfort working within the back-end of one or more Digital Experience software applications. (ex: CMS, marketing automation, eCommerce, site search, event management systems, etc.)


  • Project management experience.

  • General understanding of user experience (UX) principles.
